Definition of Terms

Anemia: A lack of healthy red blood cells in the blood system. There are many types and causes of anemia. A major symptom is fatigue.

Monocytopenia: A deficiency or lack of monoctyes in the circulating white blood cells.

Neutropenia: A deficiency or lack of neutrophils in the circulating white blood cells.

Splenomegaly: Refers to an enlarged spleen.

Thrombocytopenia: Refers to the deficiency or lack of platelets in the blood. Low platelets can result in bruising and nosebleeds.
