From an early supporter of the consortium

I am supporting the Hairy Cell Leukemia Consortium and this web-site because I would like everyone with this disease and everyone that cares about or for people with HCL to have easy access to the best information and best care available in the world. When I was diagnosed with HCL several years ago, I found various bits of information on the disease around the web, but never found a single source dedicated to answering my questions and helping me. Since being diagnosed, I have learned of other people with HCL being mis-treated, over-treated or under-treated, and feel it is time everyone with an HCL diagnosis is given the opportunity to obtain knowledgeable and professional care for our disease.

Finally, as you know or will soon understand, about 500 cases of Hairy Cell Leukemia are diagnosed each year. Hence, we are a small group, but with a common and serious purpose.
